From Clean to Dirty: Water Damages
9/9/2019 (Permalink)
Water is a destructive force that can present itself in a multitude of ways. Typically, there are three types of water contamination to gage sanitation levels for proper repair. Clean water is the safest type of water intrusion. These occur from relatively clean water sources such as a broken water line or an overflowing bathtub. Usually free from contaminants, this water is considered innocuous and poses little risk to your health. Gray water is considered more hazardous, but still not toxic. Dishwasher or washing machines that have malfunctioned as well as clean toilet water would be considered gray water. Exercise caution with gray water and be sure not to allow it so sit stagnant too long. The most dangerous of all three levels of water contamination is listed as black water. Stemming from sewage backups and river overflows, this water is considered highly toxic. Never attempt to clean these types of contaminates without proper gear. Major health risks are posed in these disasters. SERVPRO has the experience to help you out of the worst moments life may bring. Give us a call; we are always here to help.
